12 Major Themes Of The Gospel lesson 3 “SPEAKING THE WORD”

Romans 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith."

Being a true disciple is stepping into the life of living by faith. That is how this new covenant works.

Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 “teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." Amen.

The spiritual disciplines don’t save us; only the blood of Jesus brings redemption. We have been birthed by the living word of God. The spiritual disciplines bring us into intimacy and develops maturity.

Isaiah 59:21 “As for Me," says the LORD, "this is My covenant with them: My Spirit who is upon you, and My words which I have put in your mouth, shall not depart from your mouth, nor from the mouth of your descendants, nor from the mouth of your descendants' descendants," says the LORD, "from this time and forevermore.“ 60:1 Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the LORD is risen upon you.

The covenant that God has brought us into is spoken of here in Isaiah! By the Spirit of God we have the Word of God put in our mouth. We the children need to learn to surrender to His word in our mouth. The promise, so sweet, is for the word to be in our mouth, our children’s mouth, and our children’s, children’s mouth! When we put His word in our mouth the glory of the Lord will be manifest. The Glory of the Lord is upon the children who have the word flowing from their mouth. Speaking the word is the first of many spiritual disciplines.

2 Corinthians 4:13 And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, "I believed and therefore I spoke," we also believe and therefore speak,

The spiritual principle is set; what we speak is what we believe and gain a harvest from it. If we speak from faith it is the best of all possible harvests. We are called to speak faith filled words.

Proverbs 18:20 A man's stomach shall be satisfied from the fruit of his mouth, From the produce of his lips he shall be filled. 21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue; we shall reap a harvest from the fruit of our lips! Allowing the word of God to flow through our mouth will bring the desire and destiny of God to fruition!!

Isaiah 51:16 And I have put My words in your mouth; I have covered you with the shadow of My hand, That I may plant the heavens, Lay the foundations of the earth, And say to Zion, 'You are My people.'"

We are the children of God and He has put His word in our mouth! When we allow the word of God to remain in our mouth we are covered with the shadow of the hand of God! POWERFUL!! He covers us with the shadow of His hand, He plants the words of our mouth in the heavens, and lays the foundations of the earth with the words of our mouth. It is those who have come to Mount Zion! Hebrews 12:22 identifies those who come to Jesus is the people who have come to Mount Zion!

Isaiah 54:17 No weapon formed against you shall prosper, And every tongue which rises against you in judgment You shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, And their righteousness is from Me," Says the LORD.

No weapon formed against you shall prosper! Jesus is the one who has brought righteousness to the believer! You shall condemn those who have formed a weapon that comes against you! You condemn the words of the enemy by speaking the truth of God.

James 3:2 For we all stumble in many things. If anyone does not stumble in word, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle the whole body. 3 Indeed, we put bits in horses' mouths that they may obey us, and we turn their whole body. 4 Look also at ships: although they are so large and are driven by fierce winds, they are turned by a very small rudder wherever the pilot desires. 5 Even so the tongue is a little member and boasts great things. See how great a forest a little fire kindles! 6 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity. The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body, and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. 7 For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and creature of the sea, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind. 8 But no man can tame the tongue. It is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison. 9 With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who have been made in the similitude of God. 10 Out of the same mouth proceed blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so. 11 Does a spring send forth fresh water and bitter from the same opening? 12 Can a fig tree, my brethren, bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh.

James writes under the anointing of the Holy Spirit about how man can not tame his tongue. However, that is why God puts His word in our mouth! The tongue is tamable surrendered to the word of God! PUT HIS WORD IN YOUR MOUTH!

Psalms 19:14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer.

This is one powerful verse. Your meditation is the thoughts you chose to nurture. Meditation is a given; we all do it! The question is what are we meditating upon! We can choose sweet meditation and it will result in sweet words out of our mouth.

Psalms 1:1 Blessed is the man Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, Nor stands in the path of sinners, Nor sits in the seat of the scornful; 2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD, And in His law he meditates day and night. 3 He shall be like a tree Planted by the rivers of water, That brings forth its fruit in its season, Whose leaf also shall not wither; And whatever he does shall prosper.

Do not walk in the counsel of the ungodly. Putting the word of God in your mouth is only done by delighting yourself in it! Here is a sure promise of the word of God. You meditate in His truth day and night and your prosperity is certain! You will be like a tree planted by the water; no withering leaves!

Psalms 104:33 I will sing to the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. 34 May my meditation be sweet to Him; I will be glad in the LORD.

Speaking the word includes your worship! Put a song of praise to God on your lips! We are created to praise the one who brought us out of darkness; it is sweet meditation!

2 Corinthians 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, 6 and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled.

Your thought life gives birth to the words of your mouth. Spiritual battle is done by bringing every thought that exalts itself against the knowledge of God into the obedience of Jesus Christ. Gird up the loins of your mind and meditate on His grace!

Mark 11:12 Now the next day, when they had come out from Bethany, He was hungry. 13 And seeing from afar a fig tree having leaves, He went to see if perhaps He would find something on it. When He came to it, He found nothing but leaves, for it was not the season for figs. 14 In response Jesus said to it, "Let no one eat fruit from you ever again." And His disciples heard it.

Jesus spoke to the fig tree to teach the disciples a new covenant truth.

Mark 20 Now in the morning, as they passed by, they saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. 21 And Peter, remembering, said to Him, "Rabbi, look! The fig tree which You cursed has withered away." 22 So Jesus answered and said to them, "Have faith in God. 23 "For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them.

Have faith in God and speak to the mountain! Speak to the circumstances the word of God. You can have what you speak … God said so!
