Living in the Blessing Lesson # 3 The Authoritative Word
2 Peter 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3 as His divine power has given to us all things that [pertain] to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption [that is] in the world through lust.
The great and precious promises of God are for every believer to fully partake in the divine nature. The divine power of the Father has made a download for every issue of life. Religious malware abounds as do hackers with lies exalting themselves against the knowledge of God. Only the pure word of God will bring us living in the blessing as a lifestyle.
Ephesian 1:3 Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly [places] in Christ, 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.
Being convinced that we are already blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ is imperative. Mindsets that declare we are not blessed need to come down. Chosen, adopted and accepted in the beloved, is the Father’s work, provided through the gift of Jesus Christ.
Hebrews 6:17 Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed [it] by an oath, 18 that by two immutable things, in which it [is] impossible for God to lie, we might have strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold of the hope set before [us].
God wanted the heirs of promise to be convinced; He swore an oath by all that He is, the promises are true and immutable. God can not lie and this provides strong consolation that can break every fear, doubt, and uncertainty of life’s circumstances. The counsel of God is immutable; there is not a variable that can change it.
Hebrews 6:19 This [hope] we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the [Presence] behind the veil, 20 where the forerunner has entered for us, [even] Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.
God cannot lie is the first promise that empowers the anchoring of your soul. The second soul anchoring promise is Jesus has been sent as our forerunner into His presence. You are expected into the presence of God. Until you enter into His presence you will not fully partake of all the promises. It is all about relationship with God. You are invited in at your weakest and when you need mercy the most, come boldly.
Romans 4:16 Therefore [it is] of faith that [it might be] according to grace, so that the promise might be sure to all the seed, not only to those who are of the law, but also to those who are of the faith of Abraham, who is the father of us all 17 (as it is written, "I have made you a father of many nations") in the presence of Him whom he believed--God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did; 18 who, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, "So shall your descendants be."
The exclusive way for partaking of the promises is the object of your faith in Jesus (the Seed). It is by faith by His divine influence and there is not another way to participate in the blessing. Abraham put faith in the word of God. The object of Abraham’s faith was in the God who does the impossible. It was the word of God that produced hope and it was contrary to the earthly hope that depended on the circumstances around him.
Romans 4:19 And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah's womb. 20 He did not waver at the promise of God through unbelief, but was strengthened in faith, giving glory to God, 21 and being fully convinced that what He had promised He was also able to perform. 22 And therefore "it was accounted to him for righteousness."
Abraham anchored his soul to the promise of God. It meant there were something Abraham had to chose not to consider and what he would consider. Abraham did not consider the earthly circumstances that presented hinderance to the fulfillment of the word of God. Then Abraham chose to consider God words are true. The object of his faith was in His God; he was fully persuaded that the promise of God was able to be performed. Yes, he heavenly hoped against the earthly hope and it was counted to him as righteousness. The Word is immutable even against circumstances that speak something else.
Psalm 19:7 The law of the LORD [is] perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the LORD [is] sure, making wise the simple; 8 The statutes of the LORD [are] right, rejoicing the heart; The commandment of the LORD [is] pure, enlightening the eyes; 9 The fear of the LORD [is] clean, enduring forever; The judgments of the LORD [are] true [and] righteous altogether. 10 More to be desired [are they] than gold, Yea, than much fine gold; Sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. 11 Moreover by them Your servant is warned, [And] in keeping them [there is] great reward.
The Word of God is authoritative, perfect, sure, right, and pure. God’s word is true enduring and righteous all together. So sweet they are! The word of God will change you.
Isaiah 55:8 "For My thoughts [are] not your thoughts, Nor [are] your ways My ways," says the LORD. 9 "For [as] the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways, And My thoughts than your thoughts. 10 "For as the rain comes down, and the snow from heaven, And do not return there, But water the earth, And make it bring forth and bud, That it may give seed to the sower And bread to the eater, 11 So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper [in the thing] for which I sent it.
God exalted His word above all. If you put your word in agreement with the Word you will participate in the what God will accomplish and will prosper in the things for which He sent His word.
2 Corinthians 1:20 For all the promises of God in Him [are] Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.
All the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him, Amen. The promises of God are immutable to the glory of God through us. Don’t miss the “through us”.
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things [are] noble, whatever things [are] just, whatever things [are] pure, whatever things [are] lovely, whatever things [are] of good report, if [there is] any virtue and if [there is] anything praiseworthy--meditate on these things.
Meditation is a God idea. What we think on will determine the direction of our life. The covenant of grace brings us the better promises with a greater mediator. Our meditations should be centered around these promises the Father provided.
Psalm 19:14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart Be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my strength and my Redeemer.
What you meditate on will be the words of your mouth. The words of your mouth are producing a harvest good or bad. If we learn to consider the word of God over the circumstances we will be partakers of the divine nature.
2 Timothy 3:16 All Scripture [is] given by inspiration of God, and [is] profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
The word of God should be the standard we live by. The word is authoritative and will make you equipped to walk in victory!
Luke 4:3 And the devil said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread." 4 But Jesus answered him, saying, "It is written, 'Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.' "
Jesus made the declaration that we will live by every word that comes from the mouth of God. We should live by the power of the Word of God. We should not be given to the circumstances that surround or how our emotions feel or consider the earthly hope. Surrender to the heavenly hope.
2 Corinthians 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare [are] not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,
The Word of God is authoritative. Satan has brought strongholds into peoples lives. The strongholds are lies that have one in bondage. It starts with thoughts that acknowledge themselves against the knowledge of God. The thoughts become arguments and high things which seem reasonable to the one deceived. The arguments become strongholds the enemy uses to hinder the believer from living in the blessing God has bestowed. The strongholds can be broken when the thoughts are brought into captivity to the obedience of Christ. Hearing and submitting to the voice of Jesus will bring the freedom to live in the blessing.
