Living in the Blessing; Change the Judgment Mindset

Living in the Blessing LESSON # 4 The Judgment Mindset

2 Peter 1:2 Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, 3 as His divine power has given to us all things that [pertain] to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue, 4 by which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these you may be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption [that is] in the world through lust.

Oh, how sweet it is when we receive the blessing of grace and peace multiplied to us. It comes with a greater revelation of God the Father and Jesus. What if what you need, has already been given? The One who called us by glory and virtue intends for us to know the promises and partake fully in them. May our revelation of God grow great big in us. We already have it!

Ephesian 1:3 Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly [places] in Christ, 4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, 5 having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, 6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.

The Blessed One has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ. You have already been seated in heavenly places in Christ Jesus; we are now called to live from this place of privilege. Living in the blessing is what God has called us to. We are chosen, adopted, and accepted in the Beloved. Blessed indeed; let every hinderance be removed.

Hebrews 6:17 Thus God, determining to show more abundantly to the heirs of promise the immutability of His counsel, confirmed [it] by an oath,

Remember last lesson, is your soul anchored to the immutable counsel of God. Is the soul anchored to the circumstance, or the emotion of the moment, or wisdom of men? That will bring torment to the believer’s soul. The precious is what God has spoken, the vile is all other voices; anchor to the words that God has spoken.

Matthew 7:1 "Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 "For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. 3 "And why do you look at the speck in your brother's eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? 4 "Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me remove the speck from your eye'; and look, a plank [is] in your own eye? 5 "Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye. 6 "Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.

There are mindsets that hinder the believer from experiencing living the blessing. Jesus spoke of it here in Matthew 7. Jesus taught, with the measurement of judgment you view others with will be the measure of judgment you will be judged with. Walking in judgment on others, when Jesus has already bore the punishment for sin, is messy. Instead of taking truth and trying to judge others, we have been called to value that truth. Take the truth Jesus declares and apply to your own soul.

2 Corinthians 5:14 For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; 15 and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again. 16 Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. Even though we have known Christ according to the flesh, yet now we know [Him thus] no longer. 17 Therefore, if anyone [is] in Christ, [he is] a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 Now all things [are] of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,

Compelled by love. God has called us to see things after the view of His mercy and grace. No longer looking at things through the old man perspective. Now seeing things through the newly created being that I am. This view adjustment is complete when we find ourselves busy working the ministry of reconciliation, instead of the ministry of judgment. Restore should be our hearts cry; that is living in the blessing.

Roman 14:1 Receive one who is weak in the faith, [but] not to disputes over doubtful things. 2 For one believes he may eat all things, but he who is weak eats [only] vegetables. 3 Let not him who eats despise him who does not eat, and let not him who does not eat judge him who eats; for God has received him. 4 Who are you to judge another's servant? To his own master he stands or falls. Indeed, he will be made to stand, for God is able to make him stand. 5 One person esteems [one] day above another; another esteems every day [alike]. Let each be fully convinced in his own mind. 6 He who observes the day, observes [it] to the Lord; and he who does not observe the day, to the Lord he does not observe [it]. He who eats, eats to the Lord, for he gives God thanks; and he who does not eat, to the Lord he does not eat, and gives God thanks.

We are called to receive the ones weak in the faith. God is able to make the weak stand. To his own master a servant stands or falls. Disputing over doubtful things is the devil’s sand trap for the believer. The disputing heart is hindered from living in the blessing.

Romans 14:7 For none of us lives to himself, and no one dies to himself. 8 For if we live, we live to the Lord; and if we die, we die to the Lord. Therefore, whether we live or die, we are the Lord's. 9 For to this end Christ died and rose and lived again, that He might be Lord of both the dead and the living. 10 But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. 11 For it is written: "[As] I live, says the LORD, Every knee shall bow to Me, And every tongue shall confess to God." 12 So then each of us shall give account of himself to God. 13 Therefore let us not judge one another anymore, but rather resolve this, not to put a stumbling block or a cause to fall in [our] brother's way.

No man is isolated to himself. A judgment through the flesh brings men to compare themselves among themselves. The issue brings the eyes of the worshipper off God and onto those around them. What if we make a determination to not be a stumbling block, but a life speaker?

Romans 12:3 For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think [of himself] more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each one a measure of faith.

What glasses are you going to wear? If we are looking through the eyes of grace we see completely different then the view we catch through the eyes of judgment.

Galatians 6:1 Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who [are] spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. 2 Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

God did not call us to ignore those walking in trespasses. However, our heart must come from the spirit of restoration and not judgment and condemnation. We are called to bear one another’s burdens and so fulfill the law of Christ. For the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set me free from the law of sin and death.

2 Corinthians 10:3 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh. 4 For the weapons of our warfare [are] not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, 5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ,

Mindsets and thoughts of judgment need pulled down and brought into the captivity to the obedience of Jesus Christ. Let the thoughts be replaced with the spirit of restoration. Restore Lord should be our heart cry!
